All Hallows Catholic College
Chaplaincy
Chaplaincy is...
-
The mutual support we give to each other as we sincerely try to be a living Catholic Christian Community.
-
The presence of faith in our College in our values, words, deeds, prayer and liturgical life.
How we work together for the Common Good

How our commitment to our College values can be seen in the difference we make to our local, national and global communities through our commitment to Catholic social teaching and charitable works.

The welcome we give to our visitors and the care and love we give to one another
Our aim is to be a Church College where matters of faith, service, prayer and Christian values are at the heart of everything we do.

The aims and values of Chaplaincy are expressed in our motto, mission statement and values.
The College Latin motto is ‘Christi Crux Est Mea Lux’ meaning ‘Christ crucified is my light’. We aim to help each other reflect on how Jesus’ death on a cross, and his resurrection sheds light on our lives. Our mission statement, ‘Aspire not to have more but to be more’, is a reminder that it is who we become that really matters. The five values of Honourable Purpose, Respect, Compassion, Co-operation and Stewardship are taken from the example of Jesus in the Gospels, and from the teachings of the Church. Encouraging a reflection on these values provides opportunities for our young people and staff to put the Gospel teachings into action each day and in doing so recognise our moral responsibilities towards each other, our neighbours and our common home.
