We are offering an introduction to animal care as a full or half day release. This is a practical course designed for students interested in working in the animal care industry or those who would benefit from a hands on approach to learning outside of the normal classroom environment.
Many students aspire to work with animals and with the industry now worth £1 billion to UK economies there is plenty of career opportunities in this field. We can tailor the course to meet student’s specific requirements, with elements that include feeding and care of animals, moving and accommodating animals; as well as the horticultural side of growing and caring for plants/crops. The course also encourages students to develop key skills including organisation and communication as well as the development of a personal progression plan. These skills will give students a new purpose in their education and allow them to see the opportunities that are available to them for their futures.
Our termly course offers students the opportunity to:
- Learn about job opportunities in animal care and agriculture
- Meet unusual pet and farm animals
- Improve employability skills
- Learn in small group sizes
- Develop organisation and prioritising skills
At the end of the course students will gain:
- Certificate of participation
- An animal care portfolio
- Basic skills and understanding of the animal care industry
The course costs £30 per session (minimum 6 sessions) and will be available at this reduced cost for bookings between October and January. Please contact Mrs Needham firstname.lastname@example.org for more information
