All Hallows Catholic College took over one hundred and forty students to Liverpool Hope University for a 3 day transition event. All Hallows wanted to give the new intake of students a chance to build strong foundations and relationships with their new peers and teachers before starting their academic journey at the College and the Liverpool Hope experience gave them this opportunity. Over the three days, the students participated in many sports and team building activities, attended a lecture, a graduation wearing a cap and gown and attended morning and evening prayers to learn about the holistic approach to their learning that they will gain while studying at All Hallows.
Comments from students were really positive. “I really enjoyed making new friends who will be in my form” and “I was a bit nervous about going to Liverpool Hope at first but I really enjoyed the sports competition with my team”.
“Liverpool Hope was a great opportunity for the students to get to know their peers before starting All Hallows in September. It was lovely to see the students forging new friendships as the trip progressed. The students had a great time – from the very popular cooked breakfasts to inter-form sports competitions, the students didn’t stop smiling for 3 days!” Miss Elliott – Year 7 form tutor.
The trip also gave the students a chance to build a relationship with their Year Learning Leader Mr Aspinall who will be with them from years 7- 11. Mr Aspinall said “ I thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of the students and I am positive they will make a great start in September, I am looking forward to going through their journey with them”.
The students behaved impeccably throughout the whole trip and certainly lived up to the Colleges core values at of Respect, Co-operation, Honourable purpose, Compassion and Stewardship.
We are looking forward to welcoming our New Year 7 students into All Hallows Catholic College in September!
